Scientific Conference to celebrate the International Day of Nurses and Midwives

       With the approval of NDUN leaders, on 12th May 2023, Scientific Conference to celebrate the International Day of Nurses and Midwives was held at NDUN NDUN by NDUN Nursing Association in coordination with NDUN Midwifery Association, NDUN Youth Union, and NDUN Center for Pre-Clinical Practice.

       Attending the conference there was Dr. Ngo Huy Hoang – NDUN Vice Rector; Dr. Vu Van Thanh – NDUN Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Chinh - Head of NDUN Nursing Association; MSc. Pham Thi Thanh Huong - Head of NDUN Midwifery Association; Youth Union; members of NDUN Nursing Association and Midwifery Association and NDUN students.

       Speaking at the conference, Dr. Ngo Huy Hoang emphasized that the scientific conference was organized for the purpose of encouraging members of NDUN Nursing Association and Midwifery Association, especially the young lecturers, learners and students who are passionate about scientific research, improving reporting and presentation skills; providing scientific evidence for teaching and research; creating excitement for students to understand better the nursing and midwifery profession and participate actively in scientific research activities among students.

       Reports at the conference include:

        Nursing in Vietnam: current status and development trends;

        Midwifery in Vietnam: current status and development trends;

       Current status of essential care for mothers and newborns during and after normal childbirth in the labor department at Nam Dinh Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology from January 2022 to June 2022;

        Assess the current situation of pregnancy management for pregnant women at the obstetrics clinic of Hai Hau District General Hospital from 1st February 2022 to 3st September 2022;

        Current status of knowledge about preventing plugged milk ducts among postpartum mothers at General Agricultural Hospital in 2023;

        Survey of knowledge and attitudes about Covid-19 epidemic prevention of patients being treated at Nam Dinh Province Lung Hospital in 2022;

    Current status of knowledge and attitude of early breastfeeding after birth among pregnant women who had pregnancy examination at Nam Dinh ProvinceHospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2022.

        The scientific conference provided practical information and scientific updates for nursing. It is truly a professional forum for colleagues to share experiences.

        The Scientific conference ended successfully. It is  a meaningful activity to celebrate International Nurses Day and International Midwifery Day. In 2023, the World Nursing Council with the message "Our nurses, our future" is to honor the important contributions of nurses and midwives in providing health services and patient care.
