Seminar on overview of nursing research in the new context

       Pursuant to Resolution No. 28/NQ-HDT on 21st April 2023 issued by NDUN Council on NDUN plan; implementing the plan No. 1806/KH-ĐDN issued by NDUN Rector, on 1st August 2023, at NDUN Hall, the seminar on overview of nursing research in the new context was presented by Prof. Dr. Truong Viet Dung - Former MOH Director of Science and Training Department, Chairman of National Ethics Council in Biomedical Research.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Thanh Tung - Chairman of NDUN Council delivered his opening speech at the seminar

       Attending the seminar there was Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Thanh Tung - Chairman of NDUN Council; members of NDUN managemnent board; Heads and deputy heads of NDUN departments and all NDUN lecturers.

        Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Thanh Tung - Chairman of NDUN Council stated that nursing is an important force in conducting the goals of the health sector in terms of improving the quality of medical services as well as innovating style and attitude. Therefore, scientific research is one of the important tasks that helps nurses apply research results into practice in order to improve their expertise and professional.

Prof. Dr. Truong Viet Dung shared the contents of nursing scientific research

       At the seminar,  Prof. Dr. Truong Viet Dung shared the contents of clinical - experimental - community research; research topics of students; research topics of NDUN staffs, lecturers and NDUN; position of scientific research; clinical research; community nursing and experiment; support for scientific research; nursing research groups.

        It is hoped that the seminar will help NDUN lecturers understand better the role of nursing research in the development of the nursing profession in particular and the medical profession in general, and  update the relevant new knowledge in nursing research.

       Nursing research has an urgent role and needs to be prioritized for strong development in the coming time. Because only research creates new knowledge, improves and enhances the quality of care services and increases professional value. Research also enhances efficiency and cost effectiveness.

       The scope of Nursing Studies focuses on 4 areas: Nursing education, nursing practice, nursing management and health systems. When choosing a Research Area, it is necessary to consider the performance and applicability of the research topic, as well as its impact on career development and the health system.

       Within each research field there are many research topics and within each research topic there are many research problems. The main research topic is the priority issue selected to conduct research among existing issues. To determine the priority problem, the researcher always asks the question, is the problem big? Should the intervention be made according to the consequences of that problem? In addition, the novelty, urgency, feasibility, and ethical acceptability of the problem should also be considered.
