Chairman of NDUN Council’s letter on the occasion of international women's day and Hai Bà Trưng’s revolution

On 26th and 27th August 1910, 8th March was decided to be the International Women's Day at the second congress of women convened in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. Since then, March 8 has become International Women's Day, a day when women around the world fight for freedom, equality, peace and happiness.

In our country, 8th March is also the anniversary of Hai Ba Trung’s revolution. The revolution is a testament to the strength of Vietnamese women in history for the national construction and defense.

In the history of thousand years of our national building and defense, women have always held an important position and made great contributions in building the glorious tradition of the nation and creating their own traditions concluded in the golden words "Heroric, Indomitable, Loyal, Capable".

No one can deny the great role and responsibility of the women. They are housewives in the family who keep their home happy. They have also joined the labor force and contributed their efforts to the development of the country. They have the motherhood: giving birth to children and raising them to be good people. Under the constant struggle for gender equality, women today become more and more beautiful women. They are not as weak as they were before.

With NDUN, the female staffs have promoted the tradition of Vietnamese women. They fulfill not only their housework but also their tasks at work.

In all NDUN tasks and activities, the female staffs are very energetic, enthusiastic with a high sense of responsibility, constant strive to overcome all difficulties, creativeness to complete excellently their assigned tasks, research as well as their higher education. On behalf of NDUN leaders and male staffs, I appreciate the efforts and contributions of NDUN female staffs. I hope that NDUN female staffs would continue to promote the tradition of Vietnamese women for NDUN development.
