Conference on managing and supporting learners and training academic advisors for the academic year 2021 – 2022

       Implementing  NDUN plan for the academic year 2021 - 2022, on 17^th September 2021, conference on managing and supporting learners and training academic advisors for the academic year 2021 – 2022 was hels in order to summarize and evaluate the management, support for learners and academic advisory work in the academic year 2020-202, to develop directions in the academic year 2021-2022 to promote the role of the advisors, improve the efficiency of management and support learners; help the academic advisors team to clearly understand their responsibilities and powers according to the newly issued study regulations; train and equip the academic advisor with a number of necessary information technology applications to improve the effectiveness of managing and supporting learners and perform well their assigned tasks; help NDUN capture timely feedbacks from academic advisors, related units and learners to have suitable solutions for better management and support towards learners.

       The conference was held under the face-to-face and online form. Attending the conference there was Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Thanh Tung – Chairman of NDUN Council; Dr. Truong Tuan Anh – NDUN Vice Rector, in charge ofNDUN, members in the management board, heads of NDUN departments, academic advisors. All NDUN learners and students attended the online conference via NDUN facebook.

      Speaking at the conference Assoc. Dr. Le Thanh Tung –Chairman of NDUN Council stated the important role of administrators, supporters and academic advisors in monitoring, guiding and helping students in learning activities, training, scientific research, community support... Assoc. Prof.Dr. Le Thanh Tung praised NDUN staffs, lecturers who has managed and supported learners for their efforts to overcome all difficulties, especially during the Covid-19 for the task completion. At the same time, he suggested that academic managers and advisors should improve their sense of responsibility, actively and closely coordinate with relevant departments to grasp and promptly solve learners’ and students’ problems while they are not at school for direct study;  actively suggest NDUN leaders about solutions to manage and issue appropriate action plans in all situations in order to bring learners the best service. 

       Speaking at the opening of the conference, Dr. Truong Tuan Anh – NDUN Vice Rector, in charge of NDUN stated that this conference is organized annually in order to maintain and promote the roles and tasks of management and support learners in the overall process of implementing NDUN overall strategy. Dr. Truong Tuan Anh acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the academic advisors in the past time and wished that the academic advisors would try harder, make more efforts, and master the regulations, rules and training processes to support students so that they can master their study plans based on their capacity and conditions and the situation of Covid-19. At the same time, he asked the faculties to review the team of academic advisors to have a suitable assignment plan for implementing the academic advising work effectively and improving NDUN training quality.

       At the Conference, representatives of functional departments presented the following topics: academic advisory work and management, support for graduate students, new points in the Master's Training Regulations; academic advisory work and management, support for university students, policy on tuition fee exemption and reduction according to Decree 81/2021/ND-CP; new points in university training regulations and teaching and learning plans for the academic year 2021-2022 in the context of Covid-19 control; new points in the examination regulations in the context of the control of the Covid-19; implementing the tuition fee mechanism according to Decree 81/2021/ND-CP; deploying activities of Youth Union and Student Union in the context of Covid-19 control;

       In conclusion,  Dr. Truong Tuan Anh asked the administrators and supporting staffs to master their professional skills, to be ready for tasks in the new academic year so that the work of managing and supporting learners will be implemented more  professionally for more effective in supporting and helping learners and students to complete their learning and training tasks during their study at NDUN.

       The conference was taken place in a serious and open atmosphere. Through the conference, the sense of responsibility of learners and students in implementing the guidelines of the Party, the State's laws and policies, the regulations of the Education sector and NDUN was enhanced. This would improve the quality of managing students at NDUN.
