Health check-up program for the elderly to celebrate International Day of Older Persons at NDUN Hospital

       On the occasion of International Day of Older Persons and in response to "The month of action for Vietnam Elderly", on 5th October 2020, the opening program of medical examination, consultation and gifts for the elderly who are NDUN former staffs, NDUN staffs' parents or grandparents, and beneficiaries of social welfare and difficult circumstances in Vi Xuyen ward, Nam Dinh city is held at NDUN.

       The program are implemented from 5th - 15th October 2020. This is an opportunity for NDUN to appreciate the contributions of previous generations to NDUN development and show NDUN concern for the physical and mental health of the elderly who are NDUN staffs' parents, grandparents. The program demonstrates the fine traditions of the nation and carries a deep human value and it is a prominent activity in the series of activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of NDUN and the 1st anniversary of NDUN Hospital.

       Attending the opening ceremony, on the side of the guests, there is Mr. Tran Nam Giang - Director of ATP Medical Services Investment Joint Stock Company; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong - Director of Sacombank Bank, Nam Dinh branch. On the side of NDUN, there are members of management board; members of NDUN Party Executive Committee; Heads / deputy heads of departments; members of NDUN hospital management board; Trade Union Standing Committee, Youth Union, Student Association. On the side of hospital, there is Mr. Vu The Hung, MSc - In charge of the Hospital; members of Board of Directors, in charge of hospital wards and departments; hospital staffs.

       NDUN program of medical examination, consultation and gift giving for the elderly has received the attention and support of many sponsors: ATP Health Service Investment Joint Stock Company supported  400 ATP eye tonic boxes; Fresh Life (Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company)  donated 1200 boxes of Salanganes Nest syrup; Sacombank Nam Dinh branch donated 10 million VND to support the snacks for the elderly after taking blood for the test.

       After the opening ceremony, every elderly person had clinical examination: height, weight, pulse, blood pressure, BMI, General Medicine and Specialties (Surgery, Obstetrics, Eye, Ear-Nose-Throat, Tooth-Jaw-Face, Dermatology, Traditional Medicine and Rehabilitation) and subclinical examination (general ultrasound, biochemical blood test, blood count).

       During the medical examination, the elderly are consulted about a reasonable diet, full of nutrients, knowledge of physical training such as sports, appropriate recreational activities to enhance health and prevent diseases, especially some common diseases in the elderly such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, eye diseases ...

       The health check-up program for the elderly is an activity of caring for the elderly's life. That helps implement social security policies and encourage the elderly to have happy - health - useful lives.
