Second regional collaboration drill about medical disaster

       On 26th Mar 2018, in Da Nang took out the international response exercise on health in the disaster last Monday by the Ministry of health in collaboration with the people's Committee of Da Nang City. Join the 10 emergency medical team (EMTs) from ASEAN countries, Japan and the two teams of Vietnam with the assistance of a team of international experts of Japan and Thailand.

       Speaking at the opening ceremony rehearsal, ass. TS. Pham Le Tuan, Deputy Minister of health, confirmed the deployment activities of the 2nd International exercise in Vietnam have many practical benefits: "this operation demonstrates the commitment of Vietnam is ready to coordinate with the ASEAN member countries in the support, medical response in situations of natural disaster occurs in the scale area. Through active participation in international exercises, the medical units in Vietnam will be approached, the professional capacity in the region. The health agency of the Central and local levels strengthened management capacity of health operations in natural disaster situations, additional expertise about planning future response. "

       It is active within the framework of the project to strengthen the capacity of ASEAN countries in disaster medicine management, technical cooperation between international development agency JICA and the National Institute for emergency medicine of Thailand-LIEN with the goal of raisinghigh medical cooperation mechanisms for disaster response in the ASEAN region. Vietnam, along with 9 other Member countries of the ASEAN, has actively participated in and contributed to the activities of the project from the year 2015.

       The rehearsal will take place from June 26-28/3/2018, in particular:

• Day one: practice situations the EMTs to Da Nang international team (registration, immigration, situation analysis, assigned tasks...).

• Second day: operation of 3 medical Coordination Center includes a regional center, and 2 the online Center (Da Nang and Quang Nam), receiving first aid the victims, reviews of health care needs in villages devastated by the disaster.
