Vietnam National Union of Health Workers - 60 years of construction and growth

       On 21st December 2017 the ceremony of 60th anniversary of Vietnam National Union of Health Workers (VNUHW) was organized in Hanoi (23rd December 1957 - 23rd December 2017). Attending the ceremony there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Tien - Minister of Health; Mr. Tran Thanh Hai - Vice Chairman of Viet Nam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL); Ms.Tran Thi Bich Hang - Chairman of VNUHW; Leaders of ministries / departments / branches of central agencies; Leaders of departments, institutes and hospitals of the Ministry of Health; and more than 200 delegates represented for over 40,000 union members and workers in the health profession.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs.Tran Thi Bich Hang - Chairman of VNUHW said that over 60 years there have been 12 congresses. And VNUHW always perform well its roles and tasks as a socio-political organization, profession, representatives for health workers,  supporter for the health workers to overcome many difficulties, hardships to achieve the creativeness, unity, and devotion for the excellent completion of political tasks of each institution and the profession. It also focuses to communication activities to unionists, unions and workers. In details, at the grassroots trade unions there are sports events, competitions, performances, the websites of VNUHW ... Especially, workers' rights and legitimate interests are protected. of the employees. This is considered as one of the important content in every activity at grassroots trade unions.

In addition, organizing emulation movements in accordance with the real situation of the profession and each field is strenghthened; caring for the material and spiritual life of workers in the profession is paid attention (visits to unionists who have difficult conditions on the occasion of festivals, Tet; support for the unionists who sustains losses in natural disaster); the movement "warm home from trade union" and activities for the benefit of its unionists are performed well. All above activities create a useful playground for the solidarity among people in the profession. Then the assigned tasks would be completed excellently in the profession.

VNUHW was recognized and got honored rewards by the Party and the State for the activities and achievements in the past year: The First Independence Medal, The Second Independence Medal, The Third Independence Medal, Certificate of Merit from VGCL ... On this occasion, outstanding emulation flag was awarded to VNUHW by MOH for the excellent achievements in the emulation movement.

Speaking at the anniversary, Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien noted and appreciated the results of VNUHW in recent years. She hoped and believed that VNUHW would continue to promote its tradition in the past 60 years; focus on team building and activities at the grassroot trade unions; care for the material and spiritual life of workers; inspect supervise effectively the observance of law and the regimes and policies; protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers; promote patriotic emulation movements; to awaken and maximize the resources of workers; replicate advanced examples in all fields; strengthen cooperation with trade unions of different branches and localities; expand cooperation with international trade unions.
