The ceremony of sharing for the life in 2017

       On 17th November 2017 at Nam Dinh University of Nursing the ceremony of sharing for the life in 2017 was organized by The National Co-ordination Center for human organ transplantation in connection with Vietnamese Red Cross and Vietnam Association of mobilizing human organ donation.

       Attending and directing the ceremony there were Prof.Dr. Nguyen Viet Tien - Deputy Minister of Health; Mr. Tran Quoc Hung - Vice Chairman of Vietnam Central Red Cross; Mr. Bach Ngoc Chien - Vice Chairman of Nam Dinh People's Committee; Prof. Dr. Trinh Hong Son - Director of the National Coordination Center for Human Organ Transplantation; Dr. Le Thanh Tung - Rector of Nam Dinh University of Nursing (NDUN) ; Ms. Bui Thi Minh Thu - Director of Nam Dinh Health Department; Representatives from central and local ministries / departments; the teachers; representatives of donors; and more than 5,000 students of universities and colleges in Nam Dinh City.

       At present, our country has more than 10,000 people suffering from organ failure need transplantation; about 300,000 people have corneal diseases without corneal replacement; people with heart failure, kidney failure also need organ transplantation to sustain life. Therefore, it is necessary to mobilize patients with brain death and cardiac arrest stop for organ donation. This is a noble action and it should be replicated.

       Through the program "Sharing for the life in 2017", the National Co-ordination Center for human organ transplantation, Vietnamese Red Cross and Vietnam Association of mobilizing human organ donation invite human internal donation from the public.

       This activity also creates a foundation for the development and expansion of the volunteer teams in the movement of registering human organ donation across the country. The goal of the program is to raise awareness in the community, mobilize more and more people to register hunam organ donation after their death and donation of dead body for medical purposes.

       The registers of human organ donation will be volunteers who propagate to people around them about this noble gesture. Then the hearts of compassion, love, and sharing between people and people would be multiplied. And the the belief in life would be brightened in patients with organ failure waiting for organ transplantation.

Prof.Dr. Nguyen Viet Tien delivered his speech at the ceremony

       Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Viet Tien on behalf of leadership of the Ministry of Health thanked Nam Dinh University of Nursing - The host university for the ceremony; the contribution of central and local branches for the success of the ceremony. He  said that the need of human organ transplantation in Vietnam is great but the source of organ donation is very little.  Without the sourse of human organ donation, thousands of patients each day struggle to survive and encounter the death at any time without donor organs.

       According to the organization board, at the end of the ceremony  there were 1,018 people registered for organ donation in which 737 registers were staffs and students of Nam Dinh University of Nursing.
