Ceremony of defending PhD dissertation in Public Health of PhD student Do Minh Sinh at Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy

       On 19th November 2017, at Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy the ceremony of defending PhD dissertation of PhD student Do Minh Sinh - Head of Scientific Research Management Office at Nam Dinh University of Nursing (NDUN) was organized with the topic in public health: "Studying labor conditions, conditions of health and diseases of laborers in Binh Yen trade village of aluminum recycling in Nam Dinh province and effectiveness of some interventions". The topic was conducted under the scientific guidance of Assoc. Prof.Dr. Ngo Thi Nhu and Assoc. Prof.Dr. Nguyen Quoc Tien.

       Attending the ceremony of defending PhD dessertation there were Dr. Truong Tuan Anh - Vice Rector of NDUN, leader of Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy, colleagues, friends, relatives and thosewho are interested in dessertation content. The council of marking PhD dessertation consisted seven members chaired by Prof.Dr. Tran Quoc Kham - Former Deputy Director of Department of Science, Technology and Training, Ministry of Health.

Reviewers presented their comments on the dessertation

       After listening to PhD student Do Minh Sinh's presentation on the findings of the dissertation, three reviewers presented their comments on the dessertation. Then the Secretary of the Council read the Summary of scientists' ideas about the Summary of the dessertation. The other members of the Council and the participants continued to make their comments and ask questions related to the dessertation.

       The Council discussed and agreed that the form and contents of the dissertation met the requirements of a PhD dissertation (major: Public Health, code: 62.72.03.01) with seven votes for approval out of seven. On behalf of the Council, Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Kham - Chairman of the Council read the Council's resolution which highlighted the main findings, new contributions of the dessertation to science and practice.

       The topic has identified the status of working conditions in Binh Yen trade Village of Aluminum Recycling, the real conditions of health and illnesses of workers in Binh Yen trade village and suggested the effectiveness of intervention in improving working conditions.

       At the end of the ceremony, the dessertation of PhD student Do Minh Sinh was highly appreciated by the council on the side of science and practice. With the successful defense before the Council, PhD student Do Minh Sinh deserved a Ph.D degree. The Council requested that PhD degree in Public Health should be issued to PhD student Do Minh Sinh by Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
