The 5th Congress of NDUN Trade Union Members (the term of 2017-2022)

On 2nd June, 2017 the 5th Congress of NDUN Trade Union Members for the term 2017-2022 was organized at the Hall.

Overview of the Congress

Attending the Congress on the side of guests there were Dao Thi Ngoc Dung - Vice Chairman of Vietnam Health Trade Union; Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu - Head of Propaganda and Training Board and Women's Affairs Board; Mr. Ngo Chi Thuc - Vice Chairman of Nam Dinh Labor Federation; Mr. Vu Anh Kiet - Member of the Standing Committee, The Chief of Nam Dinh Labor Federation Secretariat; Mr. Truong Tien Lap - Chairman of the Provincial Health Trade Union, Deputy Director of Nam Dinh Provincial Health Department; Ms. An Thi Trinh Huong - Head of Women's Affairs Board of Nam Dinh Health Department. On the side of Nam Dinh University of Nursing there were Mr. Le Thanh Tung - NDUN Rector; Mr. Tran Van Long - Chairman of NDUN Trade Union (term 2012 - 2017); Representatives in the Executive Committee of the Party, management board, the Executive Board of the Trade Union, Standing Committees of Youth Union and Student Accosiation; socio-political organizations, and 143 representatives representing for 319 NDUN trade union members. 

After the ceremonial and the vote for the Presidium, Mr. Tran Van Long, Chairman of NDUN Trade Union for the term 2012 - 2017 presented the opening speech and received the congratulatory bouquets from guests.

          Ms. Tran Kim Thuc - Vice Chairman of NDUN Trade Union for the term of 2012 - 2017 presented the report on activities in the past term and the tasks for the term 2017-2022.

During the last term, all tasks were implemented with good achevements in all aspects such as: taking care of the staffs' life and ensuring their legal rights; cooperating with the authority in managing and developing stable labor relation for the better educational quality and effectiveness; and programs of music and sport.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Dao Thi Ngoc Dung - Vice Chairman of Vietnam Health Trade Union acknowledged and praised the achievements of  NDUN Trade Union in the past. In addition, she stressed that NDUN Trade Union should take advantage of the Party Committee's leadership and direction and actively cooperate with the management board to implement effectively the basic and comprehensive renewals of education and training for the requirements of industrialization and modernization in the context of market economy and international integration. And the Resolution of NDUN Party Committee in the term 2015-2020 concretized in each field and each phase should be followed for the effective implementation of trade union activities. Trade union officials should be knowledgable, dynamic, creative, enthusiastic and knowledgeable and reliable. In the direction, the fous, the main point should be determined clearly by NDUN Trade Union Executive Committee. And the formalism and show-off should be avoided.

Speaking at the congress, Dr. Le Thanh Tung - NDUN Rector again praised the achievements of NDUN Trade Union in the past term and totally agreed with the report on trade union activities in the term 2012 - 2017 and the direction of trade union activities for the term 2017-2022. In the new term, all trade union members should raise their sense of responsibility and democracy; concentrate their thoughts to set specific orientations and tasks for the term 2017-2022 that stick to the real development of NDUN. The contents and methods for trade union activities shoud be renovated. Trade union officials' political skills, capacity, and prestige should be improved. NDUN Trade Union should take part in developing and and supervising the implementation of laws and policies and mechanisms of the Party and the State; and has the good performance in the role of representing and protecting legal rights and interests of laborers. In addition, NDUN Trade Union should stick to the vision, mission and development goals of NDUN to  contribute to the development of NDUN.

The Congress voted for the 2017-2022 Trade Union Executive Committee 

With the high concentration, delegates at the Congress agreed on the personnel project and the voting list of NDUN Trade Union Executive Committee for the term of 2017-2022. And 11 people were elected for NDUN Executive Committee for the term 2017-2022.

At the same time, Mr. Tran Van Long was chosen to attend the 12th Trade Union Congress of the Health Sector for the term 2017-2022.

The Congress of NDUN Trade Union was successful. And under the direction of Vietnam Health Trade Union, NDUN Party Committee, and NDUN Management Board, the new Trade Union Executive Committee is hoped to implement successfully the Party Resolutions and the Trade Union Congress at all levels and proposed tasks; to care and improve NDUN staffs' lives; and to contribute to the development of NDUN
